Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced and highly independent Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care in an autonomous clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to independently manage both acute and chronic patient needs while collaborating with providers and other healthcare professionals.

Schedule

• Four shifts per week: Two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts

• Hours will vary between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM

• Every other weekend required

• Holiday coverage as necessary
  
  Rate: 54/hr Local and 60/hr Travel

Key Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Working effectively in a highly autonomous clinical setting where a provider may not always be on-site.

• Assessing patient conditions utilizing the nursing process and ensuring appropriate management of acute, chronic, and terminal conditions.

• Monitoring patients for reactions to treatments or medications and promptly reporting changes in physical or mental health status.

• Administering medications in accordance with established medication rights and patient safety protocols.

• Completing medication refills according to provider orders and established procedures.

• Accurately and promptly transcribing provider orders.

• Assessing signs and symptoms of patients reporting health concerns and implementing appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.

• Treating conditions within the RN scope of practice and appropriately utilizing established nursing protocols.

• Performing point-of-care specimen collection, including phlebotomy.

• Administering vaccines and other IM/SubQ medications.

• Leading emergency response efforts and providing appropriate interventions for patients experiencing physiological distress in accordance with BLS standards.

• Delegating and overseeing tasks performed by licensed and unlicensed personnel in accordance with applicable licensure requirements and scope of practice.

• Maintaining accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all patient care and encounters within an electronic health record (EHR).

• Providing patient education regarding medications, medical diagnoses, treatments, and interventions.

• Encouraging patient engagement and participation in individualized plans of care.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• Current BLS certification.

• Demonstrated experience working independently in an autonomous healthcare environment.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.

• Experience with medication administration and medication management.

• Proficiency in phlebotomy, specimen collection, vaccinations, and IM/SubQ injections.

• Experience documenting patient care within an electronic health record.

• Ability to effectively delegate and oversee clinical responsibilities within applicable scope-of-practice guidelines.

• Strong communication, organization, and patient education skills.
