Overview:
A rapidly growing Global Automotive Supplier servicing the North American OEM's and Tier customers. The company focuses on design, development, and manufacturing of high-quality auto parts, with a strong emphasis on innovation and R&D i.e. chassis & suspension and powertrain components (bushings, top mounts, isolators, engine mounts, etc.) for OEM's and Tier 1 & 2 customers worldwide. The position will use specific non-linear analysis software to analyze the performance of designs and conformance to design requirements. Assistance in the product development cycle is also important in this position by proposing design alternatives/suggestions to be able to achieve customer requirements.
What you will be doing:

Assist in the design of rubber products (using non-linear analysis) to meet customer requirements using Abaqus and Hypermesh.

Assist in the design of structural components to meet customer requirements using Abaqus and Hypermesh.

Create technical data for reviews and presentations based on FEA and predicted rate curves, stress/strain, and product fatigue evaluation (FE Safe or N-Code).

Communicate design and program issues in a clear and concise manner.

Be able to multi-task, keeping several projects moving forward at the same time.

Routine interface with Product Engineers and Managers.
What you must have:
The ideal candidate would have 1-5 years FEA experience in:

Nonlinear rubber analysis
-
Metal linear and nonlinear analysis
-
Metal modal analysis
Computer Skills
-
Extensive knowledge of FE software Abaqus/Ansys/ Nastran, Fatigue Software (Fe-Safe, N-code) CAD (UG/NX) or, Hypermesh,

CAD experience preferred (NX, CATIA etc.)
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics required. Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics preferred.
Certifications and Licenses

Dependent Upon Specific Projects - Continued Training may be Required

Salary Range: BOE $75,000-85,000 per year plus benefits and vacation & holidays

Work environment: Works in an office and manufacturing environment. Will work on the production floor exposed to dust, orders, oil, fumes, and noise.
