Dental Hygienist - Temp-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-6:30 PM
Lunch: 1-hour lunch

Hours: 40 hours per week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Dental Hygienist for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. The Dental Hygienist will provide high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care while educating patients on oral health and supporting the dental team in delivering an exceptional patient experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dental Hygienist seeking a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct dental hygiene care to assigned patients using established clinical procedures and standards.

  • Perform routine preventive and therapeutic procedures, including dental cleanings, polishing, dental X-rays, sealant application, fluoride treatments, and other related services.

  • Assess patients' oral health and dental needs through appropriate screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and periodontal charting.

  • Develop and implement individualized dental hygiene care plans based on each patient's needs.

  • Educate patients regarding oral hygiene, preventive care, treatment recommendations, and ongoing dental health.

  • Follow established infection-control protocols and clinical procedures to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.

  • Maintain accurate and complete dental records, including dental history, chief complaints, treatments, observations, and patient responses.

  • Record and communicate pertinent clinical observations and patient reactions to the appropriate dental staff.

  • Maintain dental equipment and supplies to support efficient daily operations.

  • Maintain appropriate patient recall lists and collaborate with Registrars and scheduling staff to coordinate follow-up care based on individual patient needs.

  • Document laboratory procedures and ensure appropriate follow-up on results.

  • Assist with or initiate appropriate emergency measures in response to unexpected adverse events during patient treatment.

  • Perform patient triage and initiate appropriate care for walk-in patients.

  • Collaborate closely with dentists and other members of the dental team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.

  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
