Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) 

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to provide direct patient care in a facility-based setting. The LVN performs complex vocational nursing duties under the supervision of the Unit RN and Unit Nurse Manager.

This position requires a dependable, clinically skilled nurse who is comfortable with medication administration, treatments, documentation, and caring for patients with more complex medical needs.

Available Shifts

  • 1 LVN: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

  • 2 LVNs: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

  • Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend off

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards, policies, and care plans.

  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.

  • Provide medication education to patients as appropriate.

  • Complete timely and accurate nursing documentation.

  • Monitor patients and report changes in condition to the supervising RN.

  • Perform advanced nursing skills, including:

    • Gastrostomy tube (G-tube) care and enteral feedings

    • Foley catheter care

    • Tracheostomy care

    • Other complex patient-care procedures as assigned

  • Perform computer-based data entry and maintain accurate patient records. Full training will be provided on the applicable computer system.

  • Collaborate with the Unit RN, Unit Nurse Manager, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

  • Perform additional patient-care duties within the LVN scope of practice as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Texas LVN license required.

  • Minimum 1 year of direct patient-care nursing experience required; 2+ years strongly preferred.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Experience and demonstrated competency with advanced nursing skills such as G-tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, and tracheostomies.

  • Strong medication administration and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision and direction of an RN and Nurse Manager.

  • Comfortable learning and using electronic documentation systems.
