Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team within a correctional facility. The LPN will provide direct nursing care to an inmate population while working collaboratively with healthcare providers and correctional staff to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
Schedule

36 hours per week

Shift: 9:45 AM – 10:15 PM

Every third weekend required

Holidays as needed based on unit requirements
Key Responsibilities

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.

Assess, monitor, and document patient health conditions and responses to treatment.

Assist with intake screenings, chronic care management, and ongoing health assessments.

Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and provide nursing interventions as needed.

Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, correctional officers, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.

Educate patients regarding health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.

Adhere to infection control, safety, and security procedures within the correctional environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
-
Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

Minimum of one (1) year of recent correctional nursing experience.

Current CPR/BLS certification.

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment.
