Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team within a correctional facility. The LPN will provide direct patient care to an underserved population while working collaboratively with physicians, registered nurses, correctional staff, and other healthcare professionals. Schedule

Full-Time: 40 Hours per Week

Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Schedule: Five (5) 8-hour shifts per week

Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required
Key Responsibilities

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.

Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately and timely.

Monitor and evaluate patient health status, reporting significant changes to the RN or provider.

Provide wound care, chronic disease management, and routine nursing interventions.

Assist with intake screenings, health assessments, and discharge planning.

Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and urgent healthcare needs.

Educate patients on health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare and correctional teams to ensure continuity of care.

Adhere to infection control, safety, and security procedures at all times.
Qualifications
Required
-
Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

Current CPR/BLS certification.

Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.

Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.

Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment.

Excellent communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred
-
Previous correctional, behavioral health, emergency room, medical-surgical, or long-term care experience.

Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
