In this specialized role, you will serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for all aspects of employee leave programs, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, and workers' compensation claims. Balancing human-centered support with rigorous compliance, you will facilitate interactive processes, manage third-party administrators, and provide strategic data insights to support workforce planning. What you will be doing:
Accommodation & Leave Case Management

Interactive Process Leadership: Act as the primary internal lead for employees and managers navigating disability, medical, parental, and personal leaves of absence. Lead interactive process conversations under the ADA and implement reasonable workplace accommodations.

Complex Case Consultation: Provide an employee relations perspective on complex leave and accommodation issues, particularly where they intersect with performance, attendance, or conduct policies.

Reentry Coordination: Design and coordinate proactive return-to-work plans to ease transitions and ensure employees feel supported as they reintegrate into the workplace.

TPA Oversight: Conduct ongoing vendor management of our third-party leave and accommodations administrators, resolving escalation issues and driving process improvements.

Claims Management: Collaborate closely with our workers' compensation carrier to oversee the tracking, documentation, and timely resolution of workplace injury claims.

Program Backup: Serve as the strategic backup manager and clinical/legal SME for all core leave programs, including FMLA, parental leave, and statutory state programs.

Data & Metrics: Generate, analyze, and maintain accurate leave records in our HRIS to ensure seamless integration with payroll, benefits continuation, and compliance tracking.

Strategic Reporting: Prepare regular metrics and predictive analytics on leave utilization to support workforce planning and inform organizational strategy.

Educational Outreach: Create, maintain, and deliver leave training materials and resources for supervisors, HR advisors, and team members across various internal communication channels.

What you must have:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Certification: Active Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) certification is required.

Experience Baseline: Minimum of three (3) or more years of dedicated experience in US disability/leave administration or HR compliance.

Regulatory Expertise: Deep operational understanding of federal and state disability and paid family leave laws (including ADA, FMLA, PFWA, CFRA, and HIPAA) in a multi-state environment.

California Fluency: Strong, hands-on familiarity with California statutory leave, paid family leave, and state disability programs.

Core Competencies: Exceptional critical thinking, dispute resolution, and communication skills, with a proven ability to exercise independent judgment under pressure.
Desired Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Claims Experience: Direct experience administering self-insured or fully-insured workers' compensation plans and actively managing claims.

System Aptitude: Comfort utilizing HRIS platforms and specialized digital leave-tracking databases.
Salary/Rate Range: $25-30/HR depending on years of experience.
