Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) who is comfortable working in a highly autonomous clinical environment where a provider may not always be on-site. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, providing direct nursing care, administering medications and treatments, responding to urgent and emergent situations, and coordinating care in accordance with established nursing protocols and provider orders.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to independently prioritize and manage patient care while collaborating effectively with providers and other members of the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities

Work independently in a highly autonomous setting where a provider may not always be physically present.

Assess patient conditions utilizing the nursing process, ensuring appropriate management of acute, chronic, and terminal conditions.

Identify, monitor, and report changes in a patient's physical or mental health, including adverse reactions to medications or treatments.

Administer medications safely and accurately while adhering to established medication administration rights and patient-safety protocols.

Complete medication refills according to provider orders and established procedures.

Accurately and promptly transcribe provider orders and ensure appropriate follow-through.

Assess patients reporting health concerns by evaluating signs and symptoms and determining appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.

Treat conditions within the RN scope of practice and appropriately utilize established nursing protocols.

Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection, including phlebotomy.

Administer vaccines, intramuscular (IM), and subcutaneous (SubQ) medications.

Lead emergency response efforts and provide appropriate interventions for patients experiencing physiological distress in accordance with BLS standards.

Delegate and oversee appropriate tasks performed by licensed and unlicensed personnel in accordance with licensure requirements and scope-of-practice guidelines.

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of patient care, assessments, interventions, and encounters within the electronic health record (EHR).

Educate patients regarding medications, medical diagnoses, treatments, and clinical interventions.

Encourage patient understanding and engagement in their individualized plans of care.

Communicate effectively with providers and other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
Required Qualifications

Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.

Current BLS certification.

Experience providing nursing care in an autonomous or independent clinical setting.

Strong assessment, triage, and critical-thinking skills.

Experience with medication administration and medication management.

Proficiency with phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, vaccines, and IM/SubQ injections.

Demonstrated ability to recognize and appropriately respond to urgent and emergent patient conditions.

Experience utilizing an electronic health record (EHR) for clinical documentation.

Ability to delegate and oversee patient-care activities within applicable scope-of-practice requirements.

Strong patient education, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
