The Opportunity

We are  working with a fast-growing, highly specialized instrumentation manufacturer whose technology is seeing rapid global adoption in the semiconductor and advanced research markets. As a result, we are supporting them in adding a Development & Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and industrialization of complex analytical systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role in a small, high-performance team working on genuinely cutting-edge hardware with a company about to start on a siginificant upwards growth trajectory.


Role Overview

This position supports the development of complex, high-precision analytical instruments from concept through production and lifecycle support. You’ll bring mechanical and cross-disciplinary engineering expertise into an interdisciplinary environment and will be directly involved in design, testing, validation, and production transfer.

You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with high ownership and real influence over product direction.  This role has significant future growth potential as this company scales.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development of complex analytical instrumentation

  • Design parts and assemblies using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)

  • Develop and validate test methods and fixtures to characterize system performance

  • Maintain detailed engineering documentation across the full product lifecycle

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support technical decision-making

  • Plan and manage your own development activities and timelines

  • Lead transfer of new products from development into production

  • Support sustaining engineering initiatives and continuous product improvement

  • Assist with production and build activities as needed


Background & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline

  • 3+ years of experience in new product development
     

  • Knowledge of working with external vandors
  • 3+ years of experience in new product development

  • Strong experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)

  • Background working on complex industrial hardware systems (e.g., laboratory, medical, semiconductor, or process analyzers)

  • Familiarity with controls and electrical schematics

  • Experience with international product certifications (e.g., CE, UL, ATEX or similar) is a strong plus

  • Ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally
