Overview:
Our government client in Winnipeg, MB is looking for a GIS Specialist resource for a 24-month contract (an initial 6-month contract with an extension option of an additional 18-month) reference 29954-RFR-DTS-054. The position is preferred to be onsite in Winnipeg, MB but remote will be considered.
What you will be doing:
The position provides technical expertise, support and advice to clients in the implementation of Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions. Services include the creation, conversion, and compilation of datasets, raster, maps, databases, datasets, programming and configuration of interactive online maps and apps. The incumbent will also provide spatial analysis, develop and automate custom-built geo-processing tools and specialized mapping products to support business operations throughout the organization. The incumbent will also contribute knowledge to a variety of business area projects and developments such as ArcGIS Enterprise, Spatial Data infrastructure, metadata and GIS standards retooling.
What you must have:

Degree/Diploma from a University or College in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Experience as business analyst and can define requirements, build strategic cases and identify technology-driven solutions.

Extensive hands-on knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Pro
-
Extensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Online (e.g., Experience Builder, Dashboard)

Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and other Esri extensions
-
Experience with Esri mobile suite of tools (Field Maps, Survey123)
-
Experience with Python scripting for ArcGIS

Knowledge of metadata elements formatted in ISO19115-1:2014 and 19139-1:2019

Ability to use Microsoft 365 on its own and with Esri products

Basic internet skills
-
Strong problem-solving skills
-
Strong written communication skills, and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as vendors or consultants.

Strong project management skills including risk management, resource allocation creating and managing project reports, shifting priorities and tight timelines to meet project deadlines
It is preferred that the Resource has the following qualifications or experience:

Experience with aerial imagery, LiDAR, and cartographic principles

Working knowledge with Arcade for ArcGIS

Working knowledge of ArcGIS Notebooks

Working knowledge of GeoCortex/VertiGIS
