Project Engineer – Structural / Product Design

Base Salary Range: $85000 - $110000

What you will be doing:

Structural Design & Analysis (Core Function)

• Perform structural modeling and analysis for:

  • Aluminum framing systems

  • Outdoor enclosure structures

• Analyze:

  • Wind loads

  • Snow loads

  • Live loads

  • Connections and stress points

• Validate designs for:

  • Safety

  • Performance

  • Code compliance

Engineering Documentation & Permitting

• Prepare:

  • Structural calculations

  • Engineering packages

  • Supporting documentation

• Support permitting process:

  • Work with licensed engineers (P.Eng / P.E.) for stamping

  • Ensure compliance with local codes

Design Translation (Critical Skill)

• Review:

  • Architectural drawings

  • Site plans

• Translate concepts into:

  • Buildable structural systems

• Work closely with:

  • Sales (early concept)

  • Drafting (detailed drawings)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with:

  • Sales  understand intent

  • Drafting ensure accuracy

  • Production ensure manufacturability

• Solve problems like:

  • “This won’t fabricate efficiently”

  • “This connection won’t work in the field”

Product Development (R&D Component)

• Contribute to:

  • New structural systems

  • Product improvements

• Test:

  • Performance (simulation or physical)

• Optimize:

  • Materials

  • Cost

  • Manufacturability

Site Visits & Real-World Validation

• Occasionally visit job sites to:

  • Assess conditions

  • Troubleshoot issues

  • Provide recommendations

What you must have:

• Have 3–5 years of experience in:

  • Structural engineering

  • Product design engineering

  • Building systems / construction engineering

• Have hands-on experience with:

  • Structural analysis

  • CAD/design tools

• Understand:

  • Building codes

  • Permitting process

• Have worked on real-world buildable structures

Salary/Rate Range: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00
