What you will be doing:

• Knowledge, experience and expertise in heavy oil and bitumen processing (upgrading, partial upgrading, refining and bitumen-derived advanced materials)

• A world-renowned expert in heavy oil and bitumen processing (upgrading, partial upgrading, refining, and bitumen-derived advanced materials)

• Knowledge experience and expertise in advancing energy systems and recovery pathways (for defence, conventional-unconventional oil & gas, mining, renewable energies, bioenergy, critical minerals, battery components, bioindustrial, circularity innovations, recycling, and building construction)

• Great credibility in academic industry governmental and advanced research sectors in Canada and abroad

• Established national and international academic and industry network

• Demonstrated success in leading and managing joint government-industry projects or consortia

• Hands-on experience with laboratory and piloting investigations

• Experience in technical and economic evaluations

• Acclaimed academic achievements and demonstrated mentorship

• Experience as a strategic thinker

• Excellent communication skills
