Overview:
Our client, a well-established engineering firm delivering facility and infrastructure design services, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of electrical design on moderate to large projects, working across facility and infrastructure design for industrial clients, while mentoring a small team and helping shape the group's technical direction.
What you will be doing:

Provide design support on facility and infrastructure design projects

Review and mark up electrical design packages

Effectively lead electrical design efforts on moderate to large projects

Assist with administrative tasks, including proposal writing and workload forecasting

Study design criteria, codes, and standards, and incorporate required design practices into production of design deliverables

Develop conceptual and detailed designs for facilities and infrastructure projects based on project scope, design criteria, and applicable codes and standards

Assist with gathering field data to support development of design deliverables

Review and observe construction progress on projects to verify compliance with design deliverables, including RFI responses and progress observation reports

Prepare specifications, calculations, studies, reports, and shop drawing reviews, and support construction administration and staff training/development

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines

Attend client meetings to discuss facility and infrastructure needs

Interface with company management and lead a small electrical team
What you must have:
-
Professional Engineer (PE) License in Electrical Engineering required
-
Extensive experience providing facility electrical system design services required
-
Industrial project experience required
-
Experience with medium voltage electrical design required
-
BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school required
-
10+ years of experience in building design of power, lighting, fire alarm, and secondary electrical systems

Experience creating construction specifications required

Extensive experience with power system analysis using SKM and/or EasyPower
-
Experience with 3D BIM/drafting/modeling tools is preferred; proficiency with Autodesk Revit 3D modeling is an asset

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office environment, at construction sites for new facilities, and at existing facilities undergoing renovation. Periodic travel is required for site visits and client meetings.
