Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Schedule: 4 days per week - 32 Hours
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary and urgent healthcare services to adult patients within a secure correctional environment. Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, mental health professionals, and correctional personnel, the NP will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and medical evaluations.

Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.

Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.

Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Wisconsin regulations and facility protocols.

Provide preventive healthcare services, health education, and disease management counseling.

Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations within the facility.

Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, specialists, behavioral health providers, and other healthcare professionals.

Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic health record.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical reviews.

Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and correctional healthcare standards.
Qualifications
Required
-
Current Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.

Current BLS certification.

Minimum of one year of Nurse Practitioner experience.
Preferred
-
Experience in correctional healthcare, primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, family practice, or internal medicine.

Strong assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Experience working with diverse and underserved patient populations.
