Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

TEEMA is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive primary and urgent healthcare services within a correctional healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and medical evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic medical conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice and organizational guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide preventive care, health education, and wellness counseling.
  • Manage chronic disease programs, including diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and other ongoing medical conditions.
  • Respond to urgent and emergent healthcare situations as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, mental health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance activities.
  • Ensure care is delivered in accordance with correctional healthcare standards and applicable state regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Wisconsin (or ability to obtain).
  • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Nurse Practitioner experience.

Preferred

  • Previous correctional healthcare experience.
  • Primary care, family practice, urgent care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, or occupational health experience.
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved populations.
