TEEMA is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive primary and urgent healthcare services within a correctional healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and medical evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic medical conditions.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice and organizational guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Provide preventive care, health education, and wellness counseling.
- Manage chronic disease programs, including diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and other ongoing medical conditions.
- Respond to urgent and emergent healthcare situations as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, mental health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance activities.
- Ensure care is delivered in accordance with correctional healthcare standards and applicable state regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Wisconsin (or ability to obtain).
- Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of Nurse Practitioner experience.
Preferred
- Previous correctional healthcare experience.
- Primary care, family practice, urgent care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, or occupational health experience.
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations.
